Log from the chat you already use
KIkal ships an MCP server, so an AI assistant can act as a full front end: log a meal, add a product, read your day. Whatever it does shows up live in your open app.
How to connect
- Add
https://app.kikal.ch/mcpin your client as an HTTP connection. - Your client sends you to KIkal to sign in and asks you to allow access. That is the whole setup: no key to paste, nothing to copy out of the app.
- In Claude Code the command is
claude mcp add --transport http kikal https://app.kikal.ch/mcp, then type/mcpin the chat and sign in. - Clients that cannot sign in through a browser use an API key instead. Settings, Assistants is where you create and revoke one.
- Revoke access at any time: remove the connection in your client, or delete its key in the settings.
Every part of KIkal works three ways: in the app, via the in-app AI chat, or via MCP from your AI assistant.

What an assistant can do
The same things you can: log food by text or photo, create products and recipes, keep shopping lists, set weight and burned calories, read your day and your history. It works against your own product list and the Swiss food catalog, so the numbers are the ones you would have picked yourself.
